    ASSOCIATE SALES REPRESENTATIVE (EXTREMITY TRAUMA AND JOINT REPLACEMENT) ADVANCED ORTHOPEDIC INNOVATIONS – NORTHERN AND CENTRAL, NEW JERSEY

We are seeking anASSOCIATE SALES REPRESENTATIVE to join our NEW JERSEY sales team in CENTRAL AND NORTHERN NEW JERSEY to join in our growth to bring innovative products and technologies to market.

     

    THE POSITION

    As a member of the Advanced Orthopedic Innovationssales team, you are primarily responsible for the identification and conversion of prospective new surgeon customers/as well as growing with existing customers through incremental sales. The Associate Sales Representative will drive sales by understanding customers’ needs, then developing and executing a sales strategy that fulfills those needs while providing both exceptional clinical and economic value.

     

    ASSOCIATE SALES REPRESENTATIVESare responsible for developing and fostering new surgeon and account-level relationships within the geographic territory.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

     

    • Prospecting and Planning: Identify prospective surgeons and accounts. Develop and execute surgeon-specific plans and selling strategies to grow sales and convert new business.

    • Product Sales: Drive product sales for all assigned products within an assigned territory. Utilize product and customer knowledge to present, demonstrate, and educate prospects on our clinical and economical advantages for their practice.

    • Customer Relationships: Gain access to the right surgeons and buyer points within an account. Build effective customer relations with key surgeons, operating room personnel and other pertinent hospital personnel.

    • Case Coverage: Maintain appropriate surgeon/resident contact with all prospects or newly converted customers. Routinely provide support to surgeons and OR personnel during surgical cases

    • Customer Care: Strive to improve patient care. Service customer as a problem solver and maintain excellent response time and follow-up. Routinely educate Surgeons, OR and Central Supply Personnel through in-services and workshops

    • Inventory Management: Maintain sales equipment and promotional materials in proper condition and uses them to support territory efforts

    • Actively promote new or special emphasis products and strategic selling objectives

    • Implement plans to achieve a balanced product sales mix in assigned territory

     

    This position requires extensive travel within territory with the possibility of weekend work and/or limited overnight travel. Majority of time will be spent in surgeon office and/or hospital setting and includes coverage of cases in operating room (OR), coordination of equipment required for case coverage, and logistics related to hospital billing and replenishment.

     

    Associate Sales Representatives must achieve a level of expertise and competence, as well as a reputation for integrity, and are required to be on call 24 hours to respond to the needs of our customers and works every day to improve patient care.

     

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE TO ENABLE SUCCESS:

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University or College

    • 1-3 years of sales experience with a track record of exceeding targets working in the B2B, medical device or medical technology industry

    • Skilled in business communications, sales presentations, and the ability to understand and articulate the value of the company’s products in both clinical and economic terms

    • Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to use a methodical approach to selling within unique hospital and surgical settings

    • Ability to use different methods as a means of gaining access

    • Ability to navigate challenges, understand roadblocks and “no” answers while adapting to these responses

    • [In lieu of Bachelor’s degree] Associate’s degree, or surgical tech / highly specialized medical training/ certification (e.g. Medical Sales College)

     

    PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

     

    • Frequent 2-handed lifting of up to 40 lbs. from floor to chair/table and from one to another surface at approximately the same level.

    • Sitting, standing and/or walking for up to eight plus hours per day.

    • Environmental exposures include eye protection, infectious disease and radiation.

    • Associate Sales Representatives are required to be within their assigned territory each day to be available as unscheduled needs arise.

    • Has access to a reliable vehicle and must have a valid driver's license and active vehicle insurance policy.
