seeking a motivated and technically skilled SMT / AOI Programmer to join

    our electronics manufacturing team.

This position is ideal for someone with a background in electronics manufacturing, SMT

operations, PCB assembly, quality inspection, automation, or industrial equipment who is

interested in developing advanced machine programming skills.

The successful candidate will work with various manufacturing systems, including SMT

equipment, Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) machines, and conformal coating

equipment. Responsibilities will include machine programming, setup, troubleshooting,

    process optimization, and production support.

We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how equipment works, analyzing

technical information, solving problems, and learning new technologies. Previous

programming experience is beneficial, but candidates with strong technical fundamentals and

hands-on manufacturing experience are encouraged to apply.

    Key Responsibilities

    1\. AOI Programming and Inspection

    • Develop, create, modify, and maintain AOI inspection programs for PCB assemblies.

    • Configure AOI equipment according to product specifications, Gerber files, CAD data,

    and assembly requirements.

    • Debug and optimize existing programs to improve inspection accuracy and efficiency.

    • Analyze inspection results and adjust parameters to reduce false calls while

    maintaining effective defect detection.

    • Identify and evaluate common PCB assembly defects, including missing components,

incorrect placement, polarity issues, solder bridges, insufficient solder, and other

    soldering defects.

    • Verify new or modified programs before releasing them to production.

    • Support production teams with AOI programming issues and inspection

    troubleshooting.

2\. SMT Equipment Programming and Production Support

    • Assist with programming, setup, and configuration of SMT manufacturing equipment.

    • Perform machine setup, changeovers, program loading, and production preparation.

    • Support SMT feeder setup, component verification, and machine adjustments.

    • Review and interpret BOMs, PCB assembly drawings, work instructions, and

    manufacturing documentation.

    • Verify component placement, orientation, polarity, and first-piece assemblies.

    • Enter and modify machine coordinates, parameters, paths, speeds, and other process

    settings.

    • Troubleshoot machine, programming, placement, and production-related issues.

    3\. Conformal Coating Programming

    • Support programming and setup of conformal coating equipment.

    • Configure coating paths, masking requirements, keep-out areas, spray or dispensing

    parameters, and coating coverage.

    • Review PCB layouts and assembly requirements to ensure proper coating application.

    • Verify coating programs and process settings before production release.

    • Troubleshoot coating-related programming and equipment issues.

    • Understand and follow established curing and process requirements.

4\. Equipment Maintenance and Process Improvement

    • Perform equipment backups and assist with preventive maintenance activities.

    • Coordinate annual equipment calibration activities as needed.

    • Maintain accurate documentation of machine settings, program revisions,

    troubleshooting activities, and process changes.

    • Work closely with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams.

    • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment performance,

    product quality, and production efficiency.

    • Follow company safety, quality, ESD, and manufacturing procedures.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • At least 2 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, SMT operations, PCB

assembly, quality inspection, automation, equipment maintenance, or a related

    technical environment.

    • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn manufacturing programming software.

    • Knowledge of PCB assembly processes, SMT operations, and electronic components.

    • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, assembly drawings, work instructions, and

    technical documentation.

    • Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

    • Logical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to document work and follow established procedures.

    • Willingness and ability to learn multiple machines and manufacturing processes.

    • Good communication and teamwork skills.

    • Reliable, patient, and comfortable testing, adjusting, and optimizing machine

    programs.

    Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

    • AOI machine operation, programming, or troubleshooting.

    • Experience with SAKI AOI inspection systems.

    • Familiarity with SPEA 4050 Flying Probe testing equipment.

    • SMT machine operation, setup, or programming.

    • SMT feeder setup and machine changeovers.

    • First Article Inspection (FAI) or first-piece verification.

    • PCB quality inspection and defect identification.

    • Conformal coating equipment operation or programming.

    • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 standards.

    • Electronics troubleshooting and component identification.

    • Process or manufacturing engineering.

    • Automation, robotics, or industrial equipment.

    • Experience working with Gerber, centroid, or other PCB manufacturing files.

    • Experience with different PCB designs and complex electronic assemblies.

An Associate Degree, technical diploma, or certification in Electronics, Mechatronics,

Automation, Robotics, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field is

preferred, but not required for candidates with relevant hands-on manufacturing experience.

    What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who enjoys understanding how and why equipment works, not

    just operating a machine.

    The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

    • Strong technical curiosity and willingness to learn.

    • Ability to understand machine functions, software, and programming parameters.

    • Confidence in troubleshooting equipment and manufacturing issues.

    • Ability to interpret PCB documentation and technical drawings.

    • Attention to detail when verifying programs and production processes.
