    The Telecom / IT Contract Consultant will review and analyze vendor contracts for our enterprise client's environment. This position will be the subject matter expert on telecom vendor contracts and will be required to understand the contract agreements, telecom, mobility, and IT service requirements, and understand contract compliance to minimize risk to the business. This role will maintain and foster positive vendor relationships and closely partner with IT teams (enterprise wide), procurement / sourcing and legal. Additionally, working to ensure that all client requirements are memorialized into the agreement from inception. The Vendor Contract Consultant will be pro-active, detail oriented and support the Baseline and Validation team to provide vendor contract review for enterprise's AOTMP serves.

    KEY POSITION ACTIVITIES:

    • Ongoing vendor governance / relationship management

      • Specifically, being able to define and/or support best practices for the creation of, build out, and ongoing management of a global vendor portfolio which include; contracts, contacts, renewals, inventory, spend and vendor performance.
    • Working to enhance and managing vendor relationships

      • Being able to build strong relationships with vendors to establish business requirements and ensure alignment with the long-range strategic objectives
    • Vendor contract review and negotiation:

      • Ability to partner with Procurement/Sourcing departments to review compliance, assess risk, negotiate business terms with vendors, and maximize price efficiencies
      • Strong working knowledge of legal, privacy/security, and technical business requirements to be able to redline contracts and provide recommendations
    • Full awareness of vendor management process & policies

      • Participate and support the implementation of internal processes and policies

       

    • Awareness of current vendor management technology

      • Maintain current on industry knowledge of Vendor Performance Management, Procurement, and Contract Management software
    • Assisting enterprise Procurement / Sourcing departments with ongoing advisory needs

      • Advisory will vary, based on the level of employee we are working with within the enterprise organization
    • Continue to build out and enhance our central repository for all vendor material sourced

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Procurement, Law or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of related work experience
    • Proficient at managing vendor relationships across a technology service delivery environment
    • Knowledge of typical processes and procedures, for Enterprise Procurement / Sourcing departments  
    • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Telcom in areas such as procurement, contract management, risk management or service delivery
    • Proven experience influencing and negotiating between internal and external stakeholders
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical contractual aspects of contracts
    • Proven understanding of Enterprise needs for Telecom and knowledge of Telecom standard best practices
    • Experience managing escalation requirements, based on non-compliance from vendors, with any applicable vendors
    • Demonstrated experience leading, reviewing and negotiating contracts for senior positions
    • Must be able to multi-task and be a proactive self-starter with high attention to detail and follow through
    • Ability to work within a team driven environment and coordinate appropriately with all existing internal team resources working within the enterprise client's environment
    • Must be able to foster strong partnerships through knowledge sharing, being a team player, collaboration and high-level of customer service.
