Position

AP European History Teacher

Responsibilities

Teach AP European History classes and help students build a strong understanding of major historical periods, key events, and long-term developments in European history

Guide students in mastering AP exam requirements, including document analysis, historical argumentation, and academic writing

Develop lesson plans tailored to students’ learning needs and academic goals

Assign and review homework, essays, and practice work, and provide timely feedback to students and parents when needed

Support students in improving critical thinking, historical reasoning, and exam-taking strategies

Contribute to curriculum planning and instructional improvement when necessary

Qualifications

Strong academic background in history, especially European or world history

Familiarity with the AP European History curriculum and exam format

Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred, especially in AP-level courses

Strong English reading, writing, and communication skills

Responsible, patient, and detail-oriented, with the ability to explain complex historical concepts clearly

Passion for education and the ability to engage and motivate students

Preferred Qualifications

Experience preparing students for the AP European History exam

Familiarity with DBQ, LEQ, and SAQ instruction

Background in history, education, humanities, or a related field

Overseas academic experience is a plus
