The Position
We are seeking a part-time, 1-1, in-home high school tutor in Northern Virginia, DC, or Maryland. To be competitive, it would be ideal if you have past experience teaching/tutoring AP US History. Bonus points if you have also taught AP World or AP European History.

Ideal Candidate
Experience tutoring or teaching AP US History and other high school English and history courses. We value tutors with a broad range of instructional experience in high school history and English.
Bachelor's degree required.
Current or former AP US History classroom teachers are highly encouraged to apply!

Duties
Academic planning and instruction
Conduct 60-120 minute private individual lessons in student homes, weekdays 4-10 pm, and/or weekends
Develop and maintain genuine, positive, and consistent communication with parents and students
Compensation
Top Score Education offers highly competitive compensation. The starting pay range for this role is $45-$65 per hour. As they grow and develop with our company, Top Score Tutors can earn up to $80 per hour.
Logistical Requirements
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
A weekly commitment of a minimum of 8 teaching hours per week (for example, 1-2 weekday evenings and one weekend day)
Consistent access to a car (work is primarily in students’ homes 1:1) and willingness to drive up to 30 minutes to a lesson (travel bonus for longer travel).
