Assistant Project Manager – Commercial Interiors | Manhattan (One day a week WFH)

    About the Opportunity

A well-established, NYC-based General Contractor / Construction Manager (in business since 1986) is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join their office-based team in Chelsea, Manhattan. This is an immediate opening. The firm specializes exclusively in mid-market commercial interior renovations and fit-outs across the NY metro area — not ground-up, not heavy civil.

Project types include corporate office build-outs, retail, healthcare/medical office, hospitality, law firm interiors, and landlord amenity spaces. Typical project values range from $1M–$25M.

    The Role

You will work closely with senior Project Managers in an office-based environment handling day-to-day project administration. This is a office-based APM role — candidates seeking a field or superintendent track are not a fit.

    • Managing RFIs, submittals, and change orders via Procore
    • Drafting correspondence with architects, owners, and subcontractors
    • Coordinating project documentation, logs, and schedules
    • Assisting with AIA G702/G703 pay applications and requisitions
    • Supporting NYC DOB compliance and landlord/tenant work letter management

    What We're Looking For

    • 2–5 years of APM or Project Engineer experience at a commercial GC or CM in the NYC metro area
    • Procore proficiency is required — resumes without it will not be considered
    • Commercial interiors / fit-out / tenant improvement background (not heavy civil, ground-up residential, or industrial)
    • Office-based work mindset — no field component to this role
    • Bachelor's degree preferred (CM, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related); equivalent experience considered
    • Polished written and verbal communication — professional correspondence is a daily function

Bonus points for: Bluebeam Revu, AIA G702/G703 experience, NYC DOB/ACP-5/ACP-7 familiarity, bilingual skills.
