    Job Description

    JOB TITLE: Network Engineer 2 DURATION: 6 Month Contract to Hire LOCATION: Portland, OR OVERVIEW We are looking for a talented Network Engineer, who is security focused and customer driven to join our growing Information Technology Team. As a part of the Information Technology Team, the Network Engineer will focus on driving security initiatives and modernizing the network infrastructure, while being responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the production infrastructure.

    • Maintain and evolve enterprise network landscape and security infrastructure.
    • Monitor, troubleshoot and remediate network performance and security events.
    • Partner with stakeholders to gather new project requirements. Design and implement appropriate solutions.
    • Review proposed infrastructure changes as part of the review process to evaluate security implications.
    • Participate in production deployments during business and non-business hours.
    • Proactively drive security improvement programs company wide including security awareness campaigns.
    • Manage and modernize central logging and monitoring systems.
    • Contribute to the strategic planning process.
    • Maintain relevant documentation, policies, and procedures.

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITES & BEHAVIOR

    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
    • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant networking or security engineering experience in a production environment.
    • A strong understanding of routing protocols, QoS, switches and routers, wireless technologies, network diagnostics, network management software, network security, cable infrastructure and network operating systems.
    • Hands on experience with identity management systems and Microsoft Windows platform.
    • Relevant industry certifications (ISC2, ISACA, SANS/GIAC, CompTIA, Microsoft, Azure)
    • Strong written, communication and presentation skills.
