Empower PT & Fitness is seeking an outgoing and friendly Physical Therapy Technician. Previous patient care experience is a plus. This is a fast paced environment so the ability to think on your feet and multi-task is necessary. Our PT Techs are directly involved with patients by welcoming them to the clinic, ensuring a safe and clean environment, and assisting the therapists in providing high quality care.

This position is ideal for students seeking experience in the PT field, as well as other areas of medicine.

We have 1 part time opening at our Bloomfield Hills Clinic working 20-30 hours per week. Monday is a must from 7:00 am -4:00 pm. The other days/times are flexible.

The function of the physical therapy technician is to assist the physical therapist in daily functions of the clinic. This includes, but is not limited to:

Guiding patients through light exercises and strengthening techniques

Educating patients about proper use of equipment

Answering phones and handling some clerical duties

Managing supplies and maintaining clinic equipment

Preparing the treatment area and equipment for treatment

Cleaning the work area and equipment after treatment

Communicating with Patients, Physical Therapists, Practice Manager, and additional support staff.

Requirements of the Physical Therapy Technician:

Effective listening and verbal skills

Positive, friendly attitude

Ability to adapt quickly

Ability to work some evenings and long days on your feet

Previous experience as a therapy aide preferred

Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
