Job Summary
We are seeking a Collection Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will make outgoing phone calls as well as taking incoming phone calls to resolve past due debts. The ideal candidate has excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Attention to detail is essential
Communicate in a respectful manner to help the consumer find a resolution.
Professionally overcome stalls and objections to get payment in full or find alternative money sources to pay the debt in full.
Investigating when necessary to find the correct party
Update all contact information when the party is reached.
Ability to multitask.
Able to be on the phone for extended periods of time throughout the day.
Summarize the phone conversation or chain of events in database.
Strong phone presence.
Basic computer and phone skills.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED required, a college degree is preferred
Previous experience as a Collection Specialist or in a similar position
Understanding of collection techniques
Knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, and computer databases
Ability to work well under pressure
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
