    Job Description

    SUMMARY

     

    This position will be responsible for leading the operations department to meet customer requirements and demand.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    ·         Supports continuous improvement activities

    ·         Monitors all safety issues with the goal of identifying root cause and elimination of risk

    ·         Develops plan for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees

    ·         Reviews production costs and product quality and modifies production

    ·         Takes a hands-on approach with the ability to recognize potential production/quality problems on the plant floor before they occur

    ·         Develop capacity strategies, implementation plans and programs to support sales plan

    ·         Continually develop and improve metrics that support our company objectives and requirements

    ·         Supports and assists in the development of the job planning process

    ·         Purchasing supplies as needed

    ·         Supports and assists strategies and plans for facility capacity to meet growth

    ·         Supports and assists facility and equipment maintenance programs

    ·         Participates in annual planning and budget development process

    ·         Ensures all training is completed for all responsible employees and develops new training processes as needed

    ·         Participates in the development of the company’s strategic planning, vision, mission and values and desired culture

    ·         Abides by and supports all safety and quality system requirements

     

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    ·         High School Diploma or GED

    ·         Technical degree in Machine Tool Technology, Computerized Numerical Control, or equivalent required

    ·         5 years of leadership experience required

    ·         Previous experience in precision manufacturing environment is required

    ·         Previous experience in low volume, high mix job shop preferred

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    ·         Ability to write professionally for multiple outlets that conform to prescribed style and format

    ·         Ability to verbally communicate effectively

     

    REASONING ABILITY

    ·         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

    ·         Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

     

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    ·         Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Visio)
