    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Supply Chain Planner plans, coordinates, organizes, and oversees activities involved in the acquisition, production, and distribution of the company’s goods. 

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Reviews sales history and uses market intelligence to update demand plans and sales forecasts.
    • Maintains parameters within the planning systems based on supply chain strategy.
    • Compares actual performance to budgets and to future projections of sale, purchases, and inventory in the monthly S&OP process.
    • Maintains required quantity of inventory at the hubs and branches to optimize service and cost.
    • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish an effective supply chain.
    • Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
    • Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
    • Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
    • Assesses the need for storage space, material-handling equipment, and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
    • Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of materials. 
    • Acts as part of the team coordinating product line extension and new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
    • Monitors the performance of suppliers and transportation carriers in their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments. 
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.
    • Strong data, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers, shippers, and customers.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communication with partners and suppliers overseas.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Good understanding of supply chain entities and their roles and activities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field required.
    • One to five years of experience as a Planner, Analyst, or similar relevant position required.
    • Experience with MS Excess, MS Access, or other relational databases is helpful.
    • Prior experience in the use and Business Intelligence (BI) tools for creating metrics and dashboards is a plus.
    • Prior knowledge of ERP and Planning systems such as forecasting, inventory planning, production planning, distribution planning and purchasing systems is good.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
