    GENERAL FUNCTION: The ARCO Shred Document Destruction Technician has the primary function of unloading, stacking and retrieving documents that may be in boxes, bags or paper containers from an assigned area or from persons who drop off documents. The technician follows the specific sorting process trained at ARCO Shred for an appropriate mixture of white and colored paper to meet the bale specification as defined by the processing mill. The technician supports and instructs men and women with developmental disabilities at the Shred work site. The technician is responsible for the daily documentation of the men and women at the worksite and follows all safety procedures and demonstrates those procedures to the men and women at the worksite. QUALIFICATIONS: • Excellent reading, writing, and verbal skills • Valid Louisiana chauffeur’s license Forklift certified • Dependable transportation available on the job • Ability to lift 60 pounds or more • Ability to stand for 8 or more hours daily Demonstrated ability to: • Articulate and follow ARCO’s philosophy • Read, comprehend and implement program guidelines and standards • Organize activities to achieve the required outcomes for the specific production assignment • Learn new information quickly • Move fluently from one job assignment to another • Quickly and accurately evaluate and respond to materials according to specific criteria • Lift boxes and move containers of paper repetitively • Work as a team • Process information under a variety of conditions • Work with persons with developmental disabilities and family dynamics and respond appropriately • Organize work • Interact and work with other departments • Respond to safety and related issues • Communicate and coordinate with other departments in a positive relationship • Assess skills/abilities/preference of the participant • Model behavior and interactions appropriate to community standards Hours are Monday-Friday 7am-3pm *NOTE: As you begin this process please know that only applications which are filled out completely and accurately will be considered.
