    SUMMARY:  Rust-Oleum Corporation has an immediate opening for a Day Shift-Control Systems Technician at its facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI.  The Control Systems Technician will apply electrical theory and related knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electrical machinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial or laboratory environments by repairing, testing, adjusting, or installing electronic equipment, such as industrial controls, circuit boards, and switches; and reprogramming and PLC controls.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
    • Repair or replace wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
    • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
    • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
    • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes.
    • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
    • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.

    Required Skills Required Experience

     

    • 4 or more years experience with electrical and controls experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with an understanding of industrial electrical components.
    • Proficient with Rockwell programming software and hardware including Logix5000 and HMI.
    • Understand the function and operation of mechanical hardware (used for pallet, case, and can handling systems) and or packaging equipment or material handling equipment.
    • Industrial control system design, programming and troubleshooting experience.
    • Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC, HMI and VFD hardware.
    • Knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley PLC's, AC and DC drives and other industrial control components and devices.
    • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical diagrams and drawings.
    • Good electrical craftsmanship-ability to bend pipe/conduit and perform quality installation of electrical systems and components.
    • Proficient technical skills including ability to utilize electrical meters, calibration devices and other electrical monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
    • Basic computer skills or ability and willingness to learn.
    • Good mechanical aptitude and experience with mechanical machine maintenance/repair.
    • Show willingness to cross train and assist with mechanical repairs.

    Event planning and management experience for NASA conferences and workshops

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Windows, MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint programs
