Our laboratory works with pharmaceutical companies, compounding and hospital pharmacies, drug manufacturers, and raw material suppliers bringing excellence to pharmaceutical sciences and making pharmaceuticals safer. The Analytical Chemist II will have a strong knowledge of laboratory concepts, practices, procedures and instrumentation and will perform scripted tests commensurate with skill level with minimal supervision. Use of High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and Gas Chromatography (GC) equipment will be core functions of the job.

    WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible! Typical working hours between the hours of 7am - 7pm.  Weekend shifts possible.

    WORK RESTRICTIONS:  Because of vital nature of this work, we do not allow medical marijuana cards and we do random drug testing on all of our employees.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS...

    • Performs cGMP testing on API’s (active pharmaceutical ingredients) according to USP (United States Pharmacopeia) monographs
    • Requires experience with HPLC  (USP <621>) and/or GC (USP <467>)
    • Other techniques include LOD, IR, UV-VIS, Karl Fischer, TLC and melting point, refractive index, specific rotation, viscosity, osmolality.
    • Utilizes traditional wet chemistry techniques such as extraction, reflux and distillation

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS...

    • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related science field with 3+ years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred OR
    • AS in chemistry or related science with 5+ years industrial experience OR...
    • PhD in chemistry or related science with 1-3 years industrial experience

    This job operates in a laboratory environment.  

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS...

    This position often requires standing for prolong periods of time; dexterity in fingers and hands to perform complex and precise manipulations; ability to walk and stood; ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs; see in the normal visual range including the ability to distinguish colors and shades and hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
