Art Restoration Specialist
Company Overview
Art Recovery Technologies (“ART”) handles mitigation, cleaning and restoration services for various types of art works due to fire, water, mold, vandalism, age and other such damage for residential and commercial properties. We are part of a national franchise group (Prism Specialties). While our territory is Long Island, Brooklyn & Queens (“ART of NYC & Long Island”), we can procure work in areas that are not designated territories by another ART franchise owner (i.e., Bronx).
We are currently seeking a talented person with a degree in Fine Arts with a background in painting to perform a wide range of art cleaning & restoration functions.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Inventory, document and evaluate artwork for cleaning and restoration.
· Remove, protect and transport artwork from insured’s home/business.
· Disassemble and evaluate artwork to be cleaned and/or restored.
· If needed, immediate mitigation on artwork may need to be performed if there’s a potential for further damage to occur.
· Select and order frames and other materials as needed.
· Clean, restore and reassemble artwork to pre-loss condition.
· Deliver artwork to insured’s home/business.
· Communicate and collaborate with other ART Restoration Specialists for instruction and problem solving.
Requirements include:
· Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
· Painting background with an understanding of color matching.
· Picture framing experience is a plus.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Exceptional Customer Service skills - providing “white glove” service to our clients.
· Exhibit a professional, neat and clean appearance that represents the ART brand.
· Understand that entry into damaged properties such as burnt and/or waterlogged homes and buildings is routine to the job.
· Ability to lift 50 pounds as part of artwork pick-up and delivery activity.
· Keys skills are the ability to multi-task and prioritize, attention to detail and accuracy.
· Photoshop experience is a plus.
· Proficient working knowledge of basic PC operations.
· Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment.
· Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
· General office administration responsibilities include (but not limited to) ordering materials and answering client questions/phone calls.
· Occasional circumstances may require overtime (i.e., nights and weekends) and travel.
Additional responsibilities of an ART Restoration Specialist consist of the following:
· Report to work as scheduled.
· Be available for non-scheduled work requirements as needed.
· Cooperate with management and other personnel to perform assigned duties.
· Inspect own work and ensure that it is complete, thorough and meets ART’s quality standards as well as meets or exceeds customer expectations.
· Report all injuries immediately. Injured workers requiring more than first aid treatment must seek immediate medical attention.
· Attend and participate in all staff meetings as requested.
· Abide by all rules, regulations and policies contained in the Employee Handbook, Operations Manual, Safety Manual and Employment Agreement. This includes active participation in identifying, reporting and correcting situations affecting safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
· Properly operate ART’s vehicle in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations and ART’s procedures.
· Use and maintain all provided materials, supplies and equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommended procedures.
· Document all job activity using the established systems, processes and procedures.
· Keep all job/customer files neat, organized and secure and its contents confidential.
· Participate in ongoing training programs sponsored by the company and/or affiliated organizations.
