**J ob Description **

The AFM Biotechnician supports the companies Research & Innovation activities by ensuring the measurement of biological samples using the ARTIDIS AFM technology. She/he covers the complete ARTIDIS life cycle from sample preparation, sample preservation and transport to the ARTIDIS measurement performing high quality measurements at customers sites. Additionally, she/he is involved in the measurement quality assessment and optimization down to data analysis specific to AFM measurements but also results evaluation and report writing in the biological or clinical context. Based on her/his experience with biological samples and the ARTIDIS technology, this role is also required to develop assays for new kinds of samples when business opportunities open.

Responsibilities

• Handling biological specimens, including tumor samples, from humans and animals.
• Execution of experiments at customer site.
• Improving measurement and analysis protocols
• Writing and Reviewing Operating Procedures, Measurement Reports and Work Instructions related to AFM Experiments and Device Operation.
• Training of new operators.
• Active participation in all team activities.
• Comply with the high ethical and professional standards of ARTIDIS.

Qualifications

Required:

• B.S. major in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Nanoscience, Physics, Material Sciences, Biomedicine, Biotechnology or related fields. A master's degree is a plus.
• Previous experience with scientific instrumentation in academia and/or industry.
• Previous working experience in a regulated environment (medical, pharma, automotive, or similar).
• Highly organized person with high work integrity.
• Good communication skills and logical mindset.
• Strong dexterity and attention to details
• Adherence to processes and meticulous documentation
• Flexible schedule availability (evenings, early mornings, holidays, night shifts)
• Willingness to learn and high self-awareness.
• Proficiency in working with high-end, specialized equipment.
• Demonstrate a commitment to obtaining direct and precise approval before implementing changes, reflecting a conscientious and collaborative approach.
• Fluent in English.
• Valid work permit in the USA .
• Familiarity of the office suite (Word, Excel, Teams, etc) .

Preferred qualification :

• M.S. in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Nanoscience, Physics, Material Sciences, Biomedicine, Biotechnology or related fields.
• Experience with Atomic Force Microscopy.
• Previous working experience in life science-related regulated environment (e.g. medical or pharma industry, GLP, CMP, and similar).
• Previous experience in pathology, oncology, preclinical studies, or related subjects.
• Fluent in Spanish or additional second language.
