About the Role:
Because We Care II Inc is looking for a passionate and dedicated ASAM Group Facilitator to join our team in Norfolk, VA. In this impactful role, you'll guide individuals through structured group sessions as part of a comprehensive substance use treatment program. Responsibilities:
Facilitate evidence-based group therapy and psychoeducational sessions aligned with ASAM criteria
Assess client progress and document session notes, treatment updates, and behavioral observations
Develop and implement individualized and group treatment plans in accordance with ASAM levels of care
Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured group environment conducive to recovery
Collaborate with clinical staff, case managers, and outside agencies to coordinate client care
Monitor client compliance with program requirements and report concerns to supervisory staff
Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support as needed
Requirements:
Experience facilitating substance use disorder (SUD) or behavioral health group sessions
Familiarity with ASAM criteria and levels of care for substance use treatment
Active licensure or certification in counseling, social work, or a related field (CSAC, LPC, LCSW, or equivalent preferred)
Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices such as CBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma-informed care
Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building rapport with clients in recovery
Must pass required background checks in compliance with Virginia state regulations
