    The role

    The Safety and Flight Operations Quality Assurance Team Leader is responsible for promoting and strengthening ATP's safety culture and record by working with ATP administrative and maintenance personnel as well as instructor and student pilots to achieve ATP's safety objectives as well as ATP's Safety Program goal, which is an industry-leading safety culture where unnecessary risk is mitigated through smart, conscientious, and safety-focused decision making. The Safety and Flight Operations Quality Assurance Team Leader will report directly to the Safety and Flight Operations Quality Assurance Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Ongoing pursuit of an accident-free workplace, including no harm to people or damage to the environment or to property.
    • Embedding a safety culture in all aviation activities that recognizes the value of effective safety management and acknowledges that safety is paramount.
    • Clearly defining accountabilities and responsibilities for developing and delivering aviation safety strategy and performance.
    • Enforcing safety management as a primary responsibility of all managers, employees, students, contractors, and associates.
    • Establishing and measuring safety performance.
    • Conducting reviews and audits of safety performance.
    • Minimizing risk associated with aircraft operations to a point that is as low as reasonably practicable.
    • Developing a Just Culture of open reporting of safety hazards.
    • Monitoring industry activity to ensure best safety practices are incorporated into the organization.
    • Developing and improving safety processes to conform to an industry-leading safety culture
    • Providing and promoting the necessary resources to support the Safety Policy.
    • Requiring all employees and contractors to know and to comply with safety policies and procedures.
    • Monitor flight tracking system to end goal of improving safety and operational efficiency.
    • Assist with leading the ATP Safety and Flight Operations Quality Assurance team.
    • Develop lessons learned/issues for safety focused training.
    • Document identified hazards.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of a Private Pilot License with instrument privileges preferred.
    • Experience working with a Safety Management System preferred.
    • Possess strong professional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
    • Ability to organize own work, while working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
