Avery James School of Cosmetology is seeking a highly motivated, professional individual with a passion for teaching to join our team as a Full-Time Cosmetology Instructor.

As a Cosmetology Instructor at Avery James School of Cosmetology, you will have the opportunity to invest your knowledge and applicable life experiences as it relates to hairstyling, haircutting, chemical, manicuring and facial services. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Learning and adapting the course curriculum,
• Setting out lesson plans,
• Mentoring students and providing additional support when needed,
• Overseeing examinations and final practical tests,
• Providing course feedback to the Director,
• Maintain accurate and up to date classroom records.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a current and valid Cosmetology license in the state of Louisiana.
• Must have a current and valid Cosmetology Instructor license in the state of Louisiana.
• Maintain continuing education hours as required by the state
• Experience is preferred, but not required.
• Written and verbal communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with staff and student
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time for the purpose of observing and instructing students.
• Computer skills including but not limited to Word, Powerpoint, Excel.

The typical schedule for this position is Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm. 

This position is eligible for benefits after 90 days of employment.
