Job Summary:
As an Inspector at our 145 Repair Station, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, airworthiness, and compliance of aircraft engine maintenance and repair activities (JT8D & CFM56). Your primary responsibility will be to inspect, evaluate, and approve the work performed on aircraft engine (JT8D & CFM56), components, and systems according to established regulations, standards, and company procedures. You will work closely with the maintenance team, providing expert guidance and feedback to ensure quality control and adherence to industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform thorough inspections of aircraft engines (JT8D & CFM56), components, and systems to verify compliance with applicable regulations, manufacturer's instructions, and repair station procedures.
Review maintenance records, technical data, and work orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of inspections and repairs.
Identify and document discrepancies, non-compliance issues, and maintenance errors, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
Conduct inspections during various stages of maintenance and repair processes, including pre-inspection, in-progress inspections, and final inspections.
Inspect and approve incoming parts, materials, and equipment for use in maintenance and repair activities.
Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address inspection findings, provide technical guidance, and ensure proper implementation of corrective actions.
Verify that maintenance tasks and repairs are carried out in accordance with approved data, including service bulletins, airworthiness directives, and maintenance manuals.
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and quality control standards.
Perform functional tests and ground checks to verify the proper functioning of engine systems and components after maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date inspection records, reports, and documentation.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certification in aviation maintenance is preferred.
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an engine maintenance environment, preferably in a 145 Repair Station (JT8D & CFM56).
Thorough knowledge of applicable FAA regulations, maintenance practices, and industry standards (e.g., FAR Part 145, FAR Part 43, AC 43.13-1B).
Strong understanding of engine systems, and components, including their maintenance and inspection requirements.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and other technical documentation.
Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for identifying discrepancies and non-compliance issues.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members, regulatory authorities, and customers.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and make sound decisions based on established guidelines and procedures.
Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other relevant software applications for documentation and record-keeping.
