    About this job:

    The CFO Non-Life North America group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller reporting directly to the CFO North America. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial data, compliance with US Statutory and GAAP requirements, and the integrity of internal controls. You will also play a key role in supporting strategic financial initiatives and managing relationships with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders. You will be part of a team responsible for the external regulatory reporting of three Property & Casualty reinsurance companies as well as additional entities within the U.S. holding company structure. This role will give you the opportunity to work with personnel across all levels and locations of the organization.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the coordination, preparation, and analysis of local quarterly and annual regulatory filings including the Annual/Quarterly Statements to the NAIC/State Regulators, Annual/Quarterly Statement to OSFI (Canadian Regulator)
    • Responsible for the coordination and preparation of the annual audited financial Statements on a USSTAT basis and IFRS (Canada) basis, including close coordination with external auditors
    • Quarterly review and analysis of the USGAAP, USSTAT, and IFRS financial Statements
    • Prepare detailed support and reconciliations of the Clearwater Investment System to the USSTAT and IFRS financial statements
    • Support of the quarterly federal tax provision process across USGAAP, USSTAT and IFRS
    • Review the preparation of various data calls (RAA, BEA)
    • Support various tax filings (Federal, FET, Sales/Use Tax, State and Local)
    • Support the production of Legal Plans and Capital forecasts
    • Participate in the placement of internal retrocession
    • Review and assist in the preparation of board materials
    • Ensure accuracy checks and documents are completed with the highest quality and on a timely basis and all controls are completed

    About You

    Technical Skills/Competencies:

    • Working understanding of USGAAP and USSTAT accounting principles (IFRS knowledge a benefit)
    • MS Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
    • Experience with Workiva/wDesk

    Soft Skills:

    • Ability to work in a small team
    • Stakeholder management

    Work Experience:

    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the insurance industry performing external reporting

    Education (if applicable):

    • Accounting degree is required, in addition CPA or MBA is a benefit
