    Position Summary

    The AVP of IT Project Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of enterprise-wide technology initiatives. This individual will lead the IT Project Management Office (PMO), manage a team of project and program managers, and partner cross-functionally to ensure that projects align with organizational goals, are delivered on time, within budget, and to scope.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead the IT PMO and oversee a portfolio of complex, high-impact projects across the enterprise, including software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, integrations, and system enhancements.
    • Define and enforce project management standards, best practices, and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) aligned with organizational maturity and objectives.
    • Partner with business leaders, IT leadership, and vendors to prioritize initiatives, manage resource capacity, and ensure alignment with business strategy.
    • Establish and maintain project governance processes, including regular project reviews, risk mitigation strategies, and executive-level reporting.
    • Track KPIs, manage financials, and provide transparency to executive leadership on project health, dependencies, and return on investment (ROI).
    • Coach, mentor, and develop project managers and scrum masters, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Support organizational change management and communication strategies to drive adoption and minimize disruption.
    • Ensure compliance with internal policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver enterprise-scale initiatives with competing priorities.
    • Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
    • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification required; Agile certification (SAFe, CSM, etc.) a strong plus.
    • 10+ years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years in a senior or executive leadership role within a complex enterprise environment
    • Experience in the PEO, HCM, payroll, benefits, or HR technology space strongly preferred.
    • Expertise in project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project, or similar).
    • Strong financial acumen with experience managing multi-million-dollar project budgets.
