What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

SUMMARY:  This position will work on-site at our headquarters in Houston, Texas. The internship will be primarily focused on supporting Axiom’s financial planning, strategy, reporting and treasury functions across all of Axiom’s business units. In addition to supporting company-wide initiatives, this internship will contribute to the financial structure of Axiom’s upcoming mission to the International Space Station, as well as the development of Axiom Station and Axiom’s Spacesuit program. The intern will mainly contribute through the construction and improvement of three statement financial models, ad hoc financial analysis, budgetary variance reports, and market research summaries. The 2023 summer intern program will run from June 5 to August 18 and will be onsite at Axiom Space HQ in Houston, TX.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists the team in development of three statement financial models and ad hoc analysis to support internal company decision-making and financing needs
• Assists the team in development and implementation of company-wide budgeting and reporting processes through hands-on coordination with all business units 
• Assists the team in improvement and execution of company-wide treasury initiatives
• Assists the team in aggregation, analysis, and presentation of market research reports to support financial analysis across all space verticals 
• Assists the team in all the above through extensive use of Excel and PowerPoint, must be strong in MS Office Suite   
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Pending Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field required 
• Cumulative GPA 3.0 or higher
• Must graduate from a university or college before commencing full time employment
• Preferred, but not required, familiarity with Costpoint or other ERP systems
• Preferred, but not required, familiarity with Power BI or other dashboard systems

Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

REQUIREMENTS 

• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

• Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
