    JOB DESCRIPTION

    As an experienced Business Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring all dealership accounting is processed accurately, and in a timely. You must also be well-versed in all facets of accounting, cost control, margin expansion, and financial controls of a dealership. As well as partner with department managers to ensure the store is hitting profitability. The position reports to the Corporate Controller and General Manager.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    •  Responsible for maintaining the dealership’s accounting books in terms of files organization, cleanliness, and accuracy.
    • Responsible for processing/executing all regulatory reporting i.e. sales tax return, tire tax return, 1099, 8300, property taxes payments, etc. on a timely manner.
    • Responsible for keeping all regulatory licenses required i.e. DMV, City, BAR, etc.
    • Responsible for ensuring that all internal reconciliations (see separate process) are met in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for preparing/providing EOM reporting required by CAR Management i.e. Receivables, Inventories, Reconciliations, etc.
    • Responsible for processing end-of-month closing with proficiency and in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for training all accounting/business office personnel.
    • Assist GM, Corporate Controller, CFO on any matters pertaining to the stores whenever necessary.
    • Assist, help analyze, explain and educate the department managers in terms of a thorough understanding of their respective revenue and expenses whenever necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Thorough understanding of business office policies, procedures and processes.
    • Capable of executing/directing the following functions in the business office such as:
    • Daily deposit and receipting
    • Dealer Trades
    • Inventory Purchases (New & Pre Owned Vehicle)
    • Accounts Payables including 1099 process
    • Account Receivables
    • Contracts Process
    • Wholesale
    •  DMV
    •   ***Payroll – full charge payroll functions including payroll taxes, benefits, etc.
    • Capable of executing the following regulatory reporting:
    • Bank Reconciliations
    • Sales Tax reconciliations/process
    • Tire Tax Return Reconciliations
    • Unclaimed Property process (reporting and remittance)
    • Business Property (571L) Reconciliations
    • 8300 process
    • 1099 process
    • Flooring Reconciliations
    • Understanding of general and technical accounting concepts i.e. posting journal entries as they relate to financial statement
    • Ability to run and analyze accounts, schedules, journals for deficiencies, and able to solve problems.
    • Basic understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), helping in maintaining standard accounting, simplicity, consistency and accuracy of financial statement.
    • Ability to manage, train accounting personnel and work well with the department managers in an efficient and professional manner.
