The Photographer will be in a creative environment shooting photography for various departments including Marketing, eCommerce, Public Relations, and Events for the Abercrombie & Fitch and abercrombie kids brands. He or she will partner closely with Photo Art Direction team to photograph in-house editorial shoots and seasonal key category asset & fit guide shoots. The Photographer will assist in the editing and final select process post-shoot. Additionally, this position will support the on-figure studio photography for the Abercrombie & Fitch website. Images captured for any shoot are expected to be high-quality and aligned with brand creative direction, as they are customer-facing and used frequently in elevated placements on the websites, social media channels, emails, and occasionally in-stores.

This person works with in-house stylists, producers, creative & post-production teams and professional models & hair and make-up artists daily. The Photographer is collaborative, positive, and an active partner in the creative process. He or she knows the importance of delivering assets on time and works well in a team environment. This position demands a great eye for detail, a robust knowledge of lighting (both studio and natural light), and knowledge of Capture One and Nikon camera systems. Some video experience is helpful. He or she reports to the Studio Director. Some travel may be required.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Photograph various on-figure shoots for Abercrombie & Fitch and abercrombie kids brands, including in-house editorial shoots, key category asset & fit guide shoot, and .com shoots
• Collaborate with in-house creative teams to understand creative direction, shot lists and asset needs prior to shoot to ensure final imagery delivers on the objective
• Partner closely with Photo Art Direction team on all editorial shoots for overall lighting, mood, and style for shoot; adjust set design and lighting to create desired direction
• Direct models on set working closely with stylists to ensure specific product and product details are highlighted
• Select final images post-shoot and pass to post-production team  
• Use interactive database to track images captured and model specifications for .com shoots
• Manage & maintain folder structure and file name conventions for editorial and daily .com shoots
• Maintain set, EQ, and camera on a daily basis
• Ability to set up and strike different set lighting as needed
• Occasionally assist still life styling team with lighting for special projects
• Occasionally photograph home office events and executive headshots

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING?

• Bachelor’s degree in Photography or related field required
• 5 - 7 years experience in on-figure photography, retail experience highly preferred
• Proficiency in Capture One, Nikon cameras and Photoshop software
• Experience with tethered shooting workflow required
• Knowledge of both studio and natural lighting
• Must be positive, work well with others with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Must possess strong communication and problem-solving skills  
• Must be highly collaborative and able to work well under pressure in fast-paced environment
• Some travel may be required
• Ability to lift or move heavy studio equipment and grip
