Job Description
The role of Assistant Copywriter on the A&F Creative Marketing team will focus on the creation of exciting, on-brand copy to appear on various platforms, with a FOCUS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND A&F’S GROWING TIKTOK PRESENCE. Successful candidates will have a passion for our brand, a dynamic voice, in-depth knowledge of fashion trends and an impressive command of the social landscape, including competitors and emerging tactics.
All A&F copywriters must possess near-perfect editing and grammar skills and be able to write short, smart, snappy language that has a clear point of view and an instantly recognizable voice. The ideal applicant is curious, energetic, optimistic and highly collaborative.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Write engaging copy for the A&F brand, with a focus on social media and TikTok
- Write overarching campaign headlines and product positioning statements
- Write headlines and sub-copy (dek) copy for various social platforms
- Help write copy for paid media, SMS and push notifications
- Help edit marketing assets and/or project manage requests as needed
- Help with ad hoc marketing requests
- Stay curious and up to date on retail trends & terminology
- Share competitive research with the team to better inform copy go-forward
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING?
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in English, Creative Writing or Advertising/Copywriting
- Internship or 1-2 years of professional copywriting experience ideal, preferably in the retail space
- Near-perfect editing skills with exceptional spelling and grammar
- A strong ongoing interest in fashion and retail
- Expert command of social media
- Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
- Open to providing feedback and receiving constructive criticism on a daily basis
- Experience working in AirTable, Microsoft Teams, Google Docs and JIRA a plus
