    Job Description

    As an engineer on the Analytics Management team, this position is responsible for executing the development & support of our Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. This position will work closely with our business partners & BI technical leads ensuring solutions meet their objectives including oversight of project delivery as well as management of day to day support activities.  

    This position will play an active role in the Data Modernization project moving most of our Corporate Analytics to Power BI while participating in the Corporate Data Governance effort acting as both the knowledge set for the BI Team as well as participation in the implementation.

    WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

    • Team up with the engineering teams and Enterprise Architecture (EA) to define standards, design patterns, accelerators, development practices, DevOps and CI/CD automation
    • Analyze current BI capability set including reporting, storage, processing, data management, integration & analytics
    • Work with business partners to categorize existing usage of BI tools
    • Complete market research for leading industry BI solutions
    • Build gap analysis surrounding BI capabilities at A&F
    • Lead effort of scoring and delivering BI solutions
    • Provide technical requirements for implementation of chosen BI solutions
    • Work with Project Management to provide timely estimates, updates & status
    • Work in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum environment
    • Document and establish standards for best practices

    WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING?

    • 5-8 years of experience in a BI Engineering role
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 5+ years of experience in various Analytics technologies within a large-scale organization
    • Experience with retail industry, with focus on analytics, architecture and/or BI
    • Strong understanding of data management principles
    • Experience with BI reporting solutions such as Power BI and Tableau
    • Ability to identify usage scenarios and patterns for BI solutions
    • Expertise in delivery processes such as Agile
    • Knowledge of development lifecycle tools such as JIRA, QC, etc.​​​​​​​
    • Personal Attributes: Self-starter, Collaborative, Curious, Strong work ethic, highly motivated, Team oriented
    • Experience designing and building BI Semantic layer models in an agile environment
    • Expertise with “Infrastructure as Code” and enabling development teams to deliver idea to market efficiently and quickly
    • Hands on experience with Cloud technologies and open source technologies
    • Strong background in Power BI, Snowflake
    • Experience with modern cloud development and design concepts; software development lifecycle; advanced and systems administration practices (Linux and windows) and principles; planning, design, and problem resolution
    • Demonstrated ability in developing a culture that embraces innovation, and challenges existing paradigms
