Job Description
The Vice President, Global Transportation & Trade will provide strategic leadership by developing and implementing global transportation strategies as A&F reimagines the future of retail. This leader will identify and develop partnerships with leading technology and 3rd party service providers to maximize service to customers while optimizing cost and mitigating risk to serve. They will inspire the team to think globally, constantly learn and to connect with customers, encourage quality and lead improvement opportunities across the business.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
- Develop and implement a world-class, global logistics network
- Accountable for total flow of goods from vendors to warehouses, stores and customers including related compliance activities
- Work alongside key members of the executive team to define and implement the logistics operating model necessary to enable business growth and meet customer experience demands
- Develop best-in-class business processes capable of ensuring consistent delivery of goods while improving speed to customer
- Partner with procurement team to select from a vast range of third-party providers for transportation and trade services that align with strategic, operating and financial objectives
- Direct and manage external providers to achieve scorecard/metric expectations to ensure accountability and meet continuous improvement cost/service expectations
- Prepare annual operating budget and ensure compliance while achieving operating financial goals and objectives
- Manage and strategically integrate regulatory requirements into business processes to maximize outcomes
- Drive strategic goals for our outstanding trade compliance program, procedures, and internal controls
WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BRING?
- 10+ years of experience in a management/leadership role
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience working in and/or supporting a highly complex, global retail organization
- Digital supply chain transformation experience in a retail, omni-channel environment
- An innovative mindset, curious and willing to push boundaries
- Highly motivated and collaborative and able to learn and evolve
- Strategic thinker, analytical with an ability to look ahead and respond proactively
- Strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence both at a strategic leadership level and cross functionally
- Deep experience managing external transportation & logistics relationships
- Openness to frequent travel
- Experience working in environment recognized for driving continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, or a related field preferred
