Job Summary
We are seeking Certified Recovery Support Specialists to join our team! In this full-time on-site role, you will be responsible for providing support, encouragement, and advocacy for clients in recovery. You will work collaboratively with clinical staff and case managers to provide care coordination and connect clients to community and supportive services. The Certified Recovery Support Specialist will focus on tension points where patients need additional resources to ensure they are prepared for transition and supported in recovery while navigating re-entry processes that can seem overwhelming to them. We are seeking individuals with lived experience who are dedicated to providing compassionate peer recovery support. Clients should be committed to harm reduction and willing to engage in our programs such as SMART Recovery, WRAP, and Recovery Dharma.
Above and Beyond is growing programs and Certified Recovery Support Specialists will have the opportunity to work on different teams related to recovery including outreach, housing, and veteran services.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with clinical staff, community partners, social service programs to coordinate care and linkage to services
Facilitate group sessions
Provides temporary social and emotional support
Advocates for client's needs
Engages in Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP)
Teaches coping and community adjustment skills
Monitor and track client outcomes and goals
Liaise and communicate with referring agencies and staff appropriately; provide ongoing support to participants and communicate with Above and Beyond staff to ensure positive, trauma informed linkage to supportive services.
Qualifications
Must have a Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential by the State of Illinois
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks and prioritize appropriately
Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of compassion
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel across Greater Chicago (certain CRSS positions will require frequent offsite travel)
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
