JOB SUMMARY:

We are looking for qualified Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNA) to work PRN and Contract positions throughout Maryland.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Should have at least 1 year of GNA experience working with LTC or LTAC facilities
• Should have GNA license in the State of Maryland.
• Should have Active BLS/CPR card

KEY DUTIES:

• Provide patient hygiene.
• Provide for patient activities of daily living (serving meals, feeding as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning)
• Provide adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; applying restraints.
• Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
• Provide patient transport; answer call lights and requests; report observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
• Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Keep patient information confidential.
• Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards.
• Participate in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.

WORK HOURS

• Shifts vary and may be 8, 10, or 12 hrs
• Weekends and holidays may be required
