JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for qualified Geriatric Nursing Assistants (GNA) to work PRN and Contract positions throughout Maryland.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Should have at least 1 year of GNA experience working with LTC or LTAC facilities
- Should have GNA license in the State of Maryland.
- Should have Active BLS/CPR card
KEY DUTIES:
- Provide patient hygiene.
- Provide for patient activities of daily living (serving meals, feeding as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning)
- Provide adjunct care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths; applying restraints.
- Maintain patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
- Provide patient transport; answer call lights and requests; report observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
- Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
- Keep patient information confidential.
- Adhere to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards.
- Participate in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure.
WORK HOURS
- Shifts vary and may be 8, 10, or 12 hrs
- Weekends and holidays may be required
