Job Title: Medical Assistant
Status: Full, Hourly nonexempt
Reports to: Operations Supervisor or Operations Coordinator
Supervises: None
Position Purpose: Work with physicians to ensure claimant paperwork is complete, together with height, weight and vitals, and claimants are ready to see the physician in a timely and efficient manner; perform ancillary testing as assigned.
Specific duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

2. Apply and adhere to Company Policies and SOPs, HIPAA and OSHA requirements and processes that allow for the delivery of quality services to internal and external customers.
3. Adhere to Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity guidelines as outlined in Affirmative Action Program.
4. Observe and uphold a standard of absolute confidentiality regarding the personal information of clients, and all corporate data that may be disclosed as a necessary part of the employee’s work function.
5. Knowledge of phlebotomy and EKG; assisting physician as needed.
6. Keep constant awareness of the day’s schedule and the necessity for efficient operation.
7. Ability to work with difficult claimants utilizing calmness, consideration, compassion and respect.
8. Assist the physician in any way asked, keeping in mind clients procedures.
9. If assigned, do month-end reports such as the Banyan kit report and make sure reports are scanned and emailed to the appropriate people.
10. If assigned, place order to replenish 60-day-to-expiration meds in the Banyan kit.
11. Make sure the office is always stocked with necessary medical supplies and gowns.
12. Remain in the office until the last medical claimant is gone.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.
14. Work overtime as required.
EDUCATION
Required: High School with formal Medical Assistant’s training
Preferred: Certified Medical Assistant’s training or Associates degree
EXPERIENCE
Required: One year as a medical assistant
Preferred: Two to three years as a medical assistant in an occupational health setting; bilingual. Knowledge of ancillary testing procedures such as Pulmonary Function Test, Doppler, cardiac stress testing.

Rate of pay - $18.00 per hour
We are willing to offer a signing bonus at 90 days $250.
