    Absolute Staffing is hiring a safety consultant to work with our client.

    Hybrid: MUST live near Lehighton, Pennsylvania

     

    About the position:

    • This position is a safety consultant to the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) with a primary focus on the eastern side of the state.
    • This is a hybrid position, with some days in office at Beltzville State Park, some telework and some days onsite at various worksites conducting inspections or providing training.

    Responsibilities of the position:

    • Utilize the DCNR action plan to set dates, determine responsibilities and track completion.
    • Coordinate and conduct worksite safety inspections primarily on the eastern side of the state.
    • Develop and deliver health and safety trainings. Take existing training materials or develop new materials, as needed, and deliver effective training to DCNR personnel in-person or via webinar as dictated by DCNR needs.
    • Conduct assessments and audits in accordance with Accident and Illness Prevention Program (AIPP) and DCNR policy including hazard identification inspections, incident investigations and agency AIPP reviews, as needed or required by DCNR.
    • Analyze data and prepare technical reports and give recommendations. Prepare reports according to DCNR needs and request to analyze injury data and trends and assist with trend identification, corrective actions and implementation.
    • Provide support for injury/illness prevention, safety, industrial hygiene and AIPP compliance.
    • Work independently to provide on-site health and safety support.
    • Work with flexibility to adapt to client needs. Understand clients' needs and build relationships through excellent customer service and follow-up skills.
    • Understand personnel needs at all levels of employees and management to build relationships and assist with moving safety forward and building a strong safety culture.
    • Travel around 50% during the summer months, with less travel during the winter months. Overall travel approximately 20%. Overnight travel is rare.

    What you need to succeed in this role:

    • An AIPP qualification and less than two years occupational safety experience, an AIPP qualification and at least two years of occupational safety experience or at least two years of occupational safety experience and working towards an AIPP qualification.     • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
