Job Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a bilingual Academic Advisor who is fluent in Korean and English to support our diverse student and parent population. This role focuses on academic advising, parent communication, and guiding students through their educational pathways within the U.S. education system.
The ideal candidate is student-centered, culturally competent, and has experience in academic advising or education-related services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide academic advising to students and families in Korean and English, based on student and parent needs
Support students with course selection, academic planning, goal setting, and progress monitoring
Conduct consultations with parents and families; communicate academic progress, concerns, and recommendations clearly and professionally
Collaborate closely with teachers, program coordinators, and administrative staff to support student success
Introduce Novel Prep’s academic programs and educational products in alignment with students’ academic goals
Recommend and guide families toward appropriate Novel Prep services, clearly explaining program value, structure, and expected outcomes
Maintain accurate advising records, student reports, and individualized academic plans
Provide guidance on college preparation and academic pathways, as applicable
Required Qualifications
Professional fluency in Korean and English (spoken and written)
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Linguistics, International Studies, or a related field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multicultural students and families
Experience in academic advising, counseling, or education services (K–12 or higher education preferred)
