    Position Summary

    The Academic Advisor/Sales at Novel Prep plays a key role in guiding students and families through personalized academic planning while supporting enrollment growth and client retention. This position requires strong advising skills, cultural competency, and the ability to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking families. The Advisor is responsible for providing individualized academic pathways, monitoring student progress, managing renewals, and proactively supporting organizational expansion through relationship-based sales.

    Essential Responsibilities

    1. Academic Consultation and Guidance

    Deliver comprehensive academic advising to students and parents, with a focus on individualized educational pathways, long-term planning, and higher education preparation.

    Conduct intake assessments to evaluate student strengths, needs, and aspirations.

    Develop customized academic plans, curriculum recommendations, and achievable learning objectives aligned with each student’s goals.

    1. Student Progress Monitoring

    Track, review, and document ongoing student academic performance to ensure alignment with established goals.

    Identify obstacles impacting student progress and implement targeted strategies to improve learning outcomes.

    Work collaboratively with teachers, learning coaches, and external educational partners to support student success.

    1. Enrollment, Renewals, and Sales Development

    Provide clear and informative consultations to prospective families regarding Novel Prep programs, services, and admissions pathways.

    Manage the renewal cycle for existing students to ensure uninterrupted service and strong retention rates.

    Promote relevant programs, supplemental services, and enrichment opportunities that align with student needs.

    Build and maintain strong rapport with families to foster trust, satisfaction, and referral-based business growth.

    1. Communication and Reporting

    Maintain open, timely, and professional communication with students and parents, offering consistent updates on academic progress and recommended improvements.

    Prepare polished and comprehensive progress reports and advising summaries.

    Respond promptly to inquiries and provide high-level customer service consistent with Novel Prep’s standards.

    1. Professional Development and Compliance

    Remain informed about current trends in education, academic counseling, college admissions, and student success strategies.

    Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance advising and sales effectiveness.

    Uphold all Novel Prep policies and procedures, maintaining strict confidentiality and ethical standards.

    Required

    Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Business, or a related field.

    Professional fluency in Mandarin, Korean and English

    Minimum 1–2 years of experience in academic advising, educational services, counseling, or sales.

    Strong relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills.

    Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse families.

    Excellent organizational, planning, and documentation abilities.

    Preferred

    Experience in K–12 academic advising or U.S. college admissions counseling.

    Background in client retention, student services, or education-focused sales.
