    Job Description

    Job Purpose

    The Development Coordinator (DC) is responsible for organizing and executing fundraising efforts and assisting with marketing efforts. The DC assists in developing fundraising plans, participates in creating and executing standard operating procedures for the development department, and collaborates with development, marketing, and communication colleagues. The DC also serves as the Executive Assistant to the Development Director (DD).

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    ·        Process and record all gifts; and ensure that donors are properly thanked for their generosity

    ·        Manage the donor database and generate weekly donation reports

    ·        Executive Assistant duties: Manage the DD’s calendar, send communication on behalf of the DD, prepare materials and logistics for meetings, and assist with daily tasks

    ·        Assist in marketing the organization to volunteers, donors, church partners, and school partners.

    ·        Create and maintain online giving campaigns.

    ·        Assist in developing newsletters and other communication for donors and volunteers.

    ·        Maintain donor relationships, including meeting with major donors, keeping them updated on recent events, and involving them in ways that work for them.

    ·        Assist in maintaining the organization’s web site with timely and useful information for all audiences.

    ·        Implement strategies for encouraging new donors to give through Academy 4 Friday tours at elementary schools, using networking connections to get in touch with potential donors, and assisting with creation of grant proposals and grant reporting

    ·        Take the lead in organizing and hosting events that will appeal to both current and potential donors.

    Assist in developing quarterly fundraising plans that focus on generating revenue, encouraging participation in the program, and boosting community involvement. Participate in Academy 4 Friday program days.
