    WHO WE ARE:

    Accel Events & Tents has been laying the foundation for Hawaii’s gatherings for over 25 years. Locally owned and operated, we have one of the largest inventories of event rentals in the State, offering a vast selection of beautiful tents, bars, tables, chairs, linens and catering and kitchen supplies. From weddings at Sunset Ranch, to VIP receptions on Maui, and corporate events in Waikiki hotels, our rental product sits at the cross section of every type of event held in the islands.

    POSITION SUMMARY / PRIMARY PURPOSE

    The dispatch leader plays a center role in the organization as the intermediary between our clients, crew and leadership team. They actively communicate with each audience, ensuring rapid flow of up-to-date information. They are additionally responsible for the organization of driver routes, and associated resource set-up. We are looking for two dispatch associates, one to work a day shift and one to work an evening/night shift.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Embody Accel’s Core Values, as described below.
    • Using Accel’s desktop or mobile application, coordinate all logistics for Accel’s fleet and its drivers.
    • Work with Operations management team to draft the field crew schedules.
    • Review upcoming orders, establishing delivery routes and assign drivers and trucks according to event specifications, geographical locations, team qualifications, etc.
    • Prepare day-of resources for drivers including up-to-date orders, specialty instructions, distributing tools and resources as required.
    • Serve as intermediary for communication between customers, sales and operations team, and field set up/tear down crews.
    • Utilize Accel’s Kenect text desktop or mobile application to send delivery confirmations, arrival time updates and related customer communication.
    • Use professionalism, attentive customer service and problem-solving skills to trouble shoot any inventory, fleet or customer concerns, relaying any follow up requirements to leadership.
    • Maintain fleet plan including tracking all vehicle servicing needs, logging mileage, communicating any needs to leadership.
    • Maintain fleet key management system, logging in/out keys to all drivers.
    • Oversee gas card distribution and related tracking, ensuring integrity of gas utilization.
    • Ensure integrity of all vehicle tracking systems.
    • Maintain active communication with other Accel team members, to ensure product inventory is proactively managed.
    • Keep an organized, clean operations environment.
    • Other department duties as assigned.

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    Minimum qualifications:

    Education: High School Diploma preferred or Equivalent Experience

    License: Not required

    CERTIFICATION’S REQUIREMENTS: NONE

    Communication Skills Required

    Written/verbal communication skills.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

    • 1-2 years of previous work experience in a dispatch or communications hub role.
    • Warehouse or other production environment managing goods, inventory, and warehouse equipment an asset.
    • Previous experience in a service-focused role where communication was critical to the success of the role.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    This is an hourly position. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend duties. This position primarily operates in an office/warehouse environment.
