ONCOLOGY BILLING AND COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST (SPRING HILL, FL)

Employment type: full-time

Immediate opportunity for experienced Oncology Billing and Collections Specialist. Access Healthcare Physicians are looking for team players who have the ability to evaluate patient’s financial status and establish budget payment plans. Applicants who strive to build cooperative partnerships, maintain effective working relationships with other personnel, by treating each person both inside and outside of the organization as a customer are recommended. Applicants should support and adhere to the Access Healthcare Compliance Program including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

• Collects and reviews all patient insurance information needed to complete the billing process
• Correcting and resubmitting claims to third party payers
• Uses collection techniques to keep accounts receivable current including monitoring for delinquent payments
• Submit all paper claims and supporting documentation as required by payers
• Obtain appropriate medical records with patient and/or responsible party authorization on file, as they relate to the billing process.
• Communicates effectively to payers and/or claims clearinghouse to ensure accurate and timely electronically filed claims as per department
• Contacts patients regarding delinquent accounts and arranges mutually acceptable payment schedules.
• Prepare, review and send patient statements.
• Evaluate patient's financial status and establish budget payment plans.
• Answer questions from patients, clerical staff and insurance companies.
• Set up financial arrangements as needed.

• Billing and insurance knowledge
• Moderate knowledge of Medicare rules
• Outstanding customer services abilities
• EMR experience
• Positive, hardworking, and punctual
• Good communication skills
• The ability to work in a fast pace team environment
