    Seeking a Principal Cyber Engineering Architect to oversee tasking, research, use-cases and engineering of a small hybrid team acting as the primary contributors to stand up a new IT Management Facility. The Space Network (SN) IT Management facility will support future 24/7 operations, cybersecurity, data analytics, IT Modernization, System Administration, and network engineering staff.

    This work is being performed under the new 5-year contract:
    Space Exploration Networks Services and Evolution (SENSE)

    General Job Description: The Space Network (SN) Principal Cyber Engineering Architect will coordinate the build-up of the IT Management facility requirements, give advice during engineering design reviews, and mentor cyber engineering staff in their daily duties.

    Perform duties such as:

    • Scanning, securing, and monitoring operating systems and network
      Tuning and management of IT security systems and applications
      Conducting risk and vulnerability assessment at the network, system and application level
      Platform Integration and Analytics, Security Platform Management (COTS).
    • The principal architect can expect to be involved in a wide range of security issues including security architecture and providing technical inputs to tailor RMF controls.
    • The principal architect has direct impact on work processes and outcomes, and frequently interacts with internal NASA personnel at various levels.

    Qualifications

    Secret Clearance Required

    Typical Education And Experience: A degree in computer science, information technology, mathematics, or a related technical discipline. Plus the requisite amount of combined Cyber, IT, and Networking experience.

    Bachelors and ten (10) years or more experience;

    OR Masters and seven (7) years or more experience;

    OR PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience

    And a technical cybersecurity certification similar to Security+ CE.

    Desired Qualifications

    Soft Skills:

    Soft skills necessary to manage a technical team (tasking, scheduling, reporting, mentoring) and maintain clean open communications across a diverse set of mission environments, high level managers and customers, and project teams. Translation of technical requirements into laymen's terms.

    Technical Acumen:

    Technical knowledge to give advice in peer design reviews, functionality report inputs, and as part of the engineering review board (ERB). Assisting with quarterly review preparations.

    Solid Base Of Technical Knowledge:

    Previous experience in systems engineering, network engineering, or administration of cyber security control platforms.
