  • Responsibilities

    You will use your simulation and modeling software background, software and system engineering expertise, and preferable NASA domain experience to evaluate target programs to ensure safety and mission success.

     

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Perform software verification and validation activities to include analysis of software requirements, design, code, and test throughout the software development cycle from the conceptual phase through the operational phase to ensure the expected and need response for nominal and adverse conditions/events.
    • Perform static code analysis to identify errors and the impact of those errors
    • Performs IV&V analysis of systems and software architecture, system and software requirements, software design, software interfaces, source code, software integration and the developer's unit, build, and systems integration test products.
    • Performs functional analysis, scenario analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, and requirements allocation and interface definition studies to evaluate compliance of software specifications with customer requirements.
    • Participates in the software developer's software Requirements, Design, Code, and Test (RDCT) walkthroughs.
    • Perform system engineering activities to support scenario analysis, interface analysis, functional analysis in the evaluation of software specifications and software behavior
    • Use system based knowledge to derive, document, code and execute independent test cases
    • Perform static code analysis to identify errors and the impact of those errors
    • Perform risk assessments and software hazard analysis
    • Write and speak effectively to write technical plans, reports, and communicate results, problems, status, etc. to developers and NASA management

     

    Qualifications

    • 14+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other software-related engineering programs
    • Experience in the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and test)
    • Familiarity with software architectures and systems & software engineering practices
    • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
    • Ability and desire to interact in group meeting/working environments with team members, development organizations and customers
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance

     

    Desired Qualifications

     

    • Experience across the full software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, and test)
    • Expert in Autonomous System Management architecture in software implementation
    • Experience or knowledge of software system safety
    • Experience in risk management
    • Knowledge of or Experience in core Flight Software (cFS)
    • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
    • Experience in working NASA programs such as the Commercial Crew Program, ISS, SLS, Orion
