    Job Description

    ROLE OVERVIEW The SR MANAGER, ACTUARIAL is responsible for being the Actuarial Subject Matter Expert for multiple customers within the Enterprise Segment.   The management of these customers from an Actuarial perspective includes assisting with contract language for Performance Guarantees, ensuring these customers are set up correctly in our Analytic reporting tool that is used for both internal and external reporting, and performing any adhoc analyses that are required.   This role will work closely with Customer Partnerships to assist with contract renewals from an Actuarial perspective and to ensure the reporting to these customers showcases our value and outcomes.  The Sr Manager, Actuarial is responsible for all ROI Performance Guarantee calculations for their customers, including the communication of those results both internally and externally.

     A DAY IN THE LIFE…

    • Design and direct analytics & reports that produce key metrics, highlight areas where Accolade creates value and identify new opportunities for value creation.  
    • Using influence skills, suggest opportunities for Accolade operations as well as customer to improve gaps, including any upsell opportunities. You will be the primary Accolade Actuarial resource for the customer(s) in communicating the value of Accolade services, as well as identifying potential future opportunities to further drive savings. 
    • Identify themes both within a customer and across their customers, analyze data and make recommendations for future improvements.
    • Analyze savings and outcomes for outlier patterns and communicate summarized results to internal and external partners, making recommendations for future improvements where necessary.
    • Working with internal partners, develop complex, customized analysis for customers and communicate those findings both internally and externally. 
    • Work with Product Management teams to develop & outline the requirements for complex reporting needs and to  support the construction of reports within AIQ.
    • Calculate and analyze variances in the claims savings, based on each customer’s contractual performance guarantee requirements.  
    • Supervise analysis of healthcare spend and utilization patterns to uncover drivers of results with large and small populations.
    • Provide Actuarial support for Enterprise customer renewals and new business, including drafting contract language and providing support to Customer Partnerships and Legal to gain acceptance of the language by consultants and the customer.

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR…

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as: Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
    • Associate or Fellow in Society of Actuaries preferred but not required.
    • 10+ years of actuarial or healthcare analysis experience.
    • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and SQL skills.
    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong Management skills.
    • Consistently demonstrate ability to influence and negotiate with internal partners.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and direct team members as appropriate.
    • Self-sufficient with regard to standard computer desktop tools and general office software knowledge; additional computer skills/tools a plus.
    • Independent worker: courage, decision quality, listening, drive for results, customer and client focus, integrity and ability to deal with ambiguity.
    • The ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time while balancing short term and longer term needs.
