    Job Description

    ROLE OVERVIEW

    The SR ACTUARIAL ANALYST is responsible for supporting the analysis, reporting and savings calculations for various customers within the Strategic Market Segment.   This customer analysis will showcase Accolade’s value & outcomes and will be communicated to their manager, their peers and other internal partners such as Customer Partnerships or Operations.  They will create ad-hoc reporting as directed and analyze data to identify new variances or areas of opportunity.   

    A DAY IN THE LIFE…

    • Support analytics & reports that produce key metrics, and highlight areas where Accolade creates value and identify new opportunities for value creation.
    • Work with Product Management teams to develop & outline the requirements for product evaluation, support the construction of final customer facing reports that detail analysis findings, and provide guidance on how to communicate results to key partners.
    • Using analytic and technical skills, identify opportunities and design solutions to better automate Actuarial processes or to compare/contrast results across Accolade’s book of business.
    • Support customers with customized analysis, unique to their population or health programs and communicate those findings both internally and externally.
    • Support monthly production analysis of Accolade’s Savings results, including validating financial reconciliation, analyzing results for outlier patterns, and communicating summarized results to internal and external partners.
    • Analyze healthcare spend and utilization patterns to uncover drivers of results with large and small populations.
    • Evaluate the programs provided by Accolade’s partners for the impact they have on cost and utilization. This would include telemedicine, second opinion services, cost transparency, etc.  Create reporting and communicate results.

    What we are looking for…

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as: Actuarial Science, Risk Management, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field.
    • Associate in the Society of Actuaries preferred, but not required.
    • 5+ years of actuarial or healthcare data analysis experience.
    • Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills.
    • Good/Excellent SQL skills.
    • Good written and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Strong technical skills with deep understanding of actuarial concepts and ability to apply them to work product.
    • Independent worker: courage, decision quality, listening, drive for results, customer and client focus, integrity and ability to deal with ambiguity.
    • Consistently demonstrate ability to influence and negotiate with internal partners.
    • The ability to organize, manage and prioritize multiple projects at one time.
    • Inquisitive, analytical, problem-solving in nature.
    • Data-driven, detail-oriented and fact-based; focused on getting the best answer for customers and clients.
    • Hands-on, action-oriented style.
