Pay Rate: $16.83 per hour

Location: Virginia Beach, VA

Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 40 Hours per Week

Job Description

The City Treasurer's Office is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Account Clerk I to provide cashiering and accounting support services. This full-time contract position is responsible for processing transactions, maintaining accurate records, and supporting daily treasury operations in a professional office environment.

Job Duties

• Perform cashiering duties and process payments accurately.
• Maintain financial and accounting records.
• Enter and update information in computer systems and software applications.
• Assist with daily accounting and treasury-related functions.
• Process paperwork and maintain organized documentation.
• Provide administrative support as needed.
• Ensure accuracy and confidentiality when handling financial information.

Preferred Experience

• Previous cashiering, customer service, or cash-handling experience.
• Experience working in an accounting, banking, finance, or clerical support role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong data entry and recordkeeping skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Experience using accounting software or financial management systems preferred.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and team members.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
