    Job Title: Accountant

    Location: Omaha, NE

    Reports To: Owner/CEO

    Job Summary:

    The accountant will oversee the financial operations of the law firm, ensure accurate financial reporting and maintaining robust internal controls. This role involves managing all accounting functions, preparing comprehensive financial statements, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.

    Trust Accounting

    Record daily financial transactions, including sales, receipts, payments, and bank reconciliations.

    Monitor and reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements to ensure accuracy.

    Prepare and process invoices, ensuring timely payment and collection.

    Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and complete.

    Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of adjusting journal entries.

    Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

    Manage the budgeting and forecasting process, providing insights and recommendations to senior management.

    Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

    Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; Associate's degree in Accounting considered.

    Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience.

    Law firm and trust accounting experience preferred.

    Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

    Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

    High level of integrity and attention to detail.
