    Position Summary

    We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper with strong accounting knowledge to support our Tax and Accounting teams. This role is ideal for a professional who enjoys managing the details of financial records, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to helping clients succeed by maintaining accurate and compliant books .

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Bookkeeping & Accounting

    • Maintain accurate financial records and bring books to trial balance stage
    • Record monthly financial transactions and maintain the general ledger
    • Reconcile bank and credit card statements
    • Prepare periodic financial reports for clients
    • Analyze and calculate sales tax; ensure timely payments
    • Collaborate with the team for year-end financial preparation and audits

    Client Relations and Advisory:

    • Communicate regularly with clients to gather necessary tax documents and financial information.

    Compliance and Reporting:

    • Support the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Monitor and improve internal processes to increase efficiency and accuracy in bookkeeping workflows.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
    • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles
    • Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
    • Proficiency in Office Products
    • Customer Service Orientation
    • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Knowledge of tax procedures and external financial reporting is preferred
    • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple client accounts
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Flexible availability during tax season , including half-day Saturdays from February 1st to April 15th , as needed
    • Proficiency in QuickBooks (desktop and/or online)
    • Canopy CRM software experience is a plus
    • English: Fluent
    • Bilingual candidate preferred (English/Spanish)

    Education & Experience

    • Minimum 3 years of relevant bookkeeping/accounting experience
    • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software like QuickBooks
    • Proven bookkeeping and general accounting knowledge.
    • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
