    GENERAL SUMMARY:

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Accountant plays a vital role in recording the daily transactions in the general ledger and account analysis of certain balance sheet accounts.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    1. Prepare monthly resident billing and ensures that additional charges are billed out correctly,
    2. Supervise Accounts Payable,
    3. Prepares journal entries and support documentation,
    4. Variance analyses, (actual to budget, CY to PY),
    5. Prepares weekly payroll through the submission of online timekeeping system,
    6. Bank reconciliation,
    7. Follow up with AP vendors on outstanding invoices,
    8. Account analyses at month end,
    9. Reconcile fixed assets,
    10. Assist in the preparation of budgets,
    11. Other duties as necessary.

    1. May assist the Finance Director in performing administrative functions, handling resident inquiries and conducting building tours.
    2. Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the community; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to function in this position.
    3. Assure resident safety.

    7. Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
    8. Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.

    10. Consistently work cooperatively with residents, co-workers, physicians, families, consultant personnel and other ancillary service providers.
    11. Observe all community safety policies and procedures.
    12. Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to appropriate person or takes corrective action according to established procedures.
    13. Come to work and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
    14. Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality, complies with attendance policy.
    15. Assume accountability for data contained in the Employee Handbook.
    16. Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.

    EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    1. BS Degree in Accounting
    2. Must have excellent writing skills and verbal communication skills
    3. Preference given to candidate with Non-profit, senior living and helath care
    4. 2 years of prior working experience, supervisory experience preferred

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
    2. Must be artistically creative, motivational and energetic with passion for serving others
    3. Must possess patience and sensitivity to other's needs; ability to work with community groups; willingness to work beyond normal hours
    4. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat/or reader
    5. Familliarity with Microsoft Suite products
    6. Familiarity with reuired electronics, including but not limited to iPads, tablets, smart tv's and digital cameras
    7. Good communication skills (oral and written)
    8. Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
