We are a dynamic, fast-growing real estate investment and development group managing multiple entities across residential redevelopment, new construction, property management, and brokerage. Our businesses include Northern Virginia Investments, D|R Property Management, Easy House Buyers, D|R Homes & Investments, BDR Homes, and related ventures. We are seeking a Financial Controller to bring cohesion, accountability, and strategic insight to our financial operations.
The Financial Controller will oversee accounting and financial management across multiple entities , ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and cash flow alignment with business goals. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment and can bridge hands-on bookkeeping with high-level financial strategy.
Oversee and consolidate monthly financial statements for all entities (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
Manage intercompany transfers, reconciliations, and allocations.
Prepare and maintain consolidated financial dashboards and KPIs for ownership.
Conduct variance analysis and forecast cash flow needs across entities.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
Supervise or execute bookkeeping and general ledger management.
Ensure accuracy and timeliness of AP/AR, payroll, and expense reports.
Oversee reconciliation of all bank accounts, credit cards, and vendor accounts.
Collaborate with CPA for quarterly and annual filings, tax preparation, and audits.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Standardize accounting workflows and reporting across entities.
Evaluate and implement technology solutions to streamline financial management (QuickBooks, BuilderTrend, RentVine, or equivalent).
Create and document financial SOPs and ensure consistent application.
Advise ownership on cash flow projections, profitability, and ROI across projects.
Support capital planning and lender reporting.
Provide insight on entity performance and recommend adjustments to improve margins.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
5+ years of progressive accounting/financial management experience.
Strong understanding of real estate development, construction, or investment financials a plus.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel/Google Sheets, and financial reporting tools.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple entities and priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to process improvement.
Experience working with Property Management Companies
Salary: $60,000 – $75,000 DOE
