Job Summary We are seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented and highly organized part-time Bookkeeper/Accountant to join our team, 24-30 hours per week. The ideal candidate will play an essential role in maintaining accurate financial records, while supporting broader management and IT functions.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small company environment, has significant experience with Quickbooks Desktop applications and wants to make a direct impact on business operations.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and banking activities, to include comprehensive administration of bill payment, financial reporting and expense management.
Maintain QuickBooks Desktop, including managing the chart of accounts and expense/revenue categories.
Provide full accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) support.
Administer payroll to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees, to include disbursement of employee benefit payments to proper entities.
Perform monthly reconciliation of bank statements, credit card and merchant payments.
Collaborate with executive management and external accountants to provide financial statements and tax information as needed.
Establish, document and maintain accounting control policies and procedures.
Evaluate current financial workflows and recommend improvements for greater accuracy and efficiency.
Monitor expenses and suggest cost-saving measures.
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity in all financial records and transactions.
Required Qualifications and Skills
5+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Highly proficient in QuickBooks Desktop and Excel. Experience with ADP payroll a plus.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and reconciliations.
Independently motivated with the ability to take on tasks and duties without immediate direction.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and duties simultaneously and independently.
Utilizes effective communication skills and demonstrates a sense of urgency.
Maintains discretionary practices and is tactful with sensitive and confidential business information.
Meticulous organizational and time management capabilities.
Friendly and professional demeanor, tactful when necessary.
