    Job Title: Accountant II

    Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Hybrid)
    Location: Inver Grove Heights, MN

    Job Type: W2 Contract (4 Months)

    Pay Rate: $ 44 - 49 / hour, DOE

    Position Overview:

    The Accountant II position is responsible for managing lease accounting, fixed asset transactions, and general ledger activities to ensure accurate financial reporting. This role supports capital project submissions, reconciles accounts, and prepares journal entries in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The accountant will assist in the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring proper accruals, allocations, and internal controls are maintained. Strong proficiency in SAP systems and advanced Excel skills are required to analyze financial data and support audit documentation. This position plays a key role in driving efficiency and accuracy in accounting processes while collaborating with internal teams on various financial projects.

    Responsibilities:

    • Support capital project submissions and closures
    • Manage fixed asset disposals and transfers
    • Oversee lease accounting, including lease additions and disposals
    • Maintain general ledger accounts and related activities to produce financial statements and reports
    • Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts in preparation for the month-end close process
    • Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and appropriate accounting classifications in accordance with GAAP
    • Ensure monthly accruals, allocations, and other complex journal entries are accurate based on new information
    • Prepare, review, and submit documentation in support of external and internal audits
    • Assist with the month-end and quarter-end close processes, utilizing appropriate information systems and technology
    • Evaluate, recommend, maintain, and monitor internal controls and related documentation
    • Oversee and manage various administrative processes
    • Assist with various projects as needed

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
    • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience
    • Experience with lease accounting and fixed assets
    • Proficiency in SAP systems
    • Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to manipulate spreadsheets, create pivot tables, and summarize data from multiple sources
