SUMMARY
As an Intermediate Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records by reconciling specific balance sheet accounts and balancing cash and banking transactions. Additionally, you will play a supporting role in the month-end closing process by preparing and posting journal entries. You will provide support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed and take on various ad-hoc projects to support the finance team.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Ensure accuracy and integrity by meticulously reconciling designated balance sheet accounts, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
Maintain financial accuracy by balancing and reconciling cash and banking transactions within the accounting system, ensuring all entries are precise and up to date.
Play a key role in the month-end closing process by assisting with the preparation and posting of journal entries, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
Verification of Point-of-Sale (Vista) accuracy by validating theatre end-of-day processes.
Provide additional support to the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams as needed, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations.
Take on various ad-hoc projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting the finance team.
EXPERIENCE COMPENTENCIES
2-3 years related accounting experience
Working towards or completion of accounting diploma
Prior experience in full cycle general ledger accounting functions
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point and experience in use of accounting software
Experience in systems conversions and implementation would be considered an asset
