    Location: Atlanta, GA 30341

    Salary Range: 

    • $70,000 – $80,000 base salary

    • Up to $100,000 for candidates with a Master’s degree (MS) – nice to have, not required

      A globally operating technology company specializing in smart and wireless lighting control solutions is expanding its U.S. operations. The organization delivers innovative lighting systems for commercial, industrial, and residential applications and is seeking an experienced Accountant with operations experience to support continued growth.

      Position Summary

      The Accountant will play a key role in bringing accounting functions in-house from an external firm while establishing best practices across order management, purchasing, and customer service operations. This role combines hands-on financial oversight with team leadership responsibilities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, compliance with U.S. accounting standards, and efficient operational workflows.

      Key Responsibilities

      Financial Operations & Accounting

      • Oversee day-to-day financial activities related to order processing, invoicing, and payment tracking

      • Ensure compliance with U.S. bookkeeping standards and internal financial controls

      • Manage the full procure-to-pay (P2P) process, including expense coding, invoice matching, and vendor payments

      • Prepare financial summaries and support month-end close and audit activities

      • Collaborate with global finance teams to align reporting and reconciliation practices

      Team & Operational Management

      • Manage and mentor a small team responsible for order entry, purchasing, and customer service

      • Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and support professional development

      • Ensure accurate order entry and effective use of ERP/CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot)

      • Coordinate workloads to maintain timely order fulfillment and customer response times

      • Resolve escalated customer issues and uphold high service standards

      Process Improvement

      • Maintain and enhance internal processes for order tracking and customer communication

      • Drive continuous improvement across financial and operational workflows

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration

      • Master’s degree (MS) is a plus but not required

      • 5+ years of experience in financial operations, ideally in a customer-facing environment

      • Strong knowledge of U.S. bookkeeping and accounting practices

      • Prior experience managing or supervising teams

      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/CRM platforms

      • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills

      • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or lighting controls is a plus
